Hello and thank you for visiting the web sight of  DifferentStrokeMassages!

I am Dianne Schossow, LMT.  I have been practicing massage for 3 years.  My love for alternate/holistic medicine started in 1978 when I had the life changing opportunity to work with a local Chiropractor.  I had years of experience performing consultation, and structural exams for patients.  Chiropractic also provided an excellent education in the field of nutrition.  After 1000's of hours of work with the Chiropractor it turned into me owning my own Health Food Store.   We offered great food at our lunch counter, and above all the opportunity to work with people that had health issues to make positive, holistic changes.  

Some say "nothing happens by accident,   What we do today CAN effect our tomorrow"!

In my personal life in 1981 I had a freak accident and fractured my skull,  injured my neck and my jaw joint. After being bed ridden 12+ years, 7 surgeries later,  3 years of physical therapy, I still suffer every day with 7+ pain.  The holistic life that I had been living was truly the foundation of my health that kept me alive in these past 33 years!  The last part of my recovery was and still is physical therapy-MUSCLES!!  I use daily, heat, ice, Tens Units, stretching, Isometric exercises, meds and resting my neck that keep me up on my feet, teaching massage college and giving massage.   I get all of my health care through a pain clinic. They offer great wisdom, and they guide me.  It is very humbling to have health issues that keep me from doing every day things like; holding my head up 16 hours a day, styling my hair, going out on the town and having extra pain the next day, get this......I do not get arm, back and neck massages-I wouldn't be able to work the next day due to pain. When I over do I can't just go and take more meds, that is not an option.  My husband is the only person that works on me.  I have sacrificed a lot to be where I am today.  I have HAD too!  My life is very simple because I want to feel as good as I can.  I have given up some of my dreams because I can't physically do them.  I always wanted to white water raft the Grand Canyon, and learn to sail.  Two events that I had dreamed of for 10 years.  The one thing that I have hated to do is take medications for 30+ years.  Though they keep up on my feet physically, they are horrible toxins to my body.  My daily routine is just right for me, I have had to build new dreams and new goals.  I have HAD to build a new life, around my handicap.  This is why I am a LMT, License Massage Therapist.  I once was on disability and as of now, I have worked part time the past 14 years.  Let me help you.  Let's figure out together how you can feel better and endure your aches and pains.

DifferentStrokeMassage strives to provide a foundation for health with your massage. We offer and use many different massage techniques.  We offer Swedish Massage (massage 101) that is great for relaxing, creating better blood and oxygen flow and lengthening those tight muscles.

We love Hot Stone massages here at  DifferentStrokeMassages!  The stones are heated up to 130 degrees, added with coconut oil and sounds of ocean, you just might think you are on a turquoise water, sandy white beach!  Your muscles absorbe the heat and the heat can easily penatrate those muscles an inch/inch and half.  Once your muscles are warmed up they become very easy to manipulate and stretch those tight, stressed  muscles.
